A few peeps have asked me about my eyebrows and how I fill them in. Long story short, I probably watched a youtube video or two on how to fill them in and the rest is history! Many beauty videos are not necessarily my style (aka I am impatient) but I watched a few to get an idea of what I liked. I wanted them to feel full but still look fresh and natural. I am all for a bold brow but I was definitely not wanting a chunky brow that didn't balance with my face. I remember having razor thin eyebrows in high school (#blessed they grew back) and my spanish teacher asked me what happened to them. Cool. Mortified, I just told her that's how they were and she told me "Quit plucking them and let them grow out!". Again, v cool. Loved that journey for me as a junior in high school.
I obvi started to grow out my eyebrows after that. I remember during the awkward phase of letting them grow back (this was before I knew about any type of makeup product that could help me out during this time) I had a shoot scheduled for some acting head shots. I insisted to the makeup lady I was growing out my eyebrows and so she drew them in - HORRIBLY by the way - and it was an awful experience. Not great for my high school age morale. When we got the pictures back, even my mom was like "uhhhhh.....no......they look fine........." #badliar. They looked like thin, brown, creepy caterpillars crawling across my chubby baby face.
What I began to learn about the magical ~eyebrow~ was that if you allow your natural eyebrows to just be, they are the perfect compliment to your face. I know that might sound silly and #duh, but it's amazing what a nice set of natural eyebrows can do to a person! That's the way God made them! Why are we attacking them?! To be determined.
I definitely still keep them groomed - aka just under the outer brow and anything in between the two brows, but other than that, I just let them do their thing! They don't match, they still need a little fill in (in my opinion) so I really like the simple fill in or brush thru before heading out the door. It took some practice and they are not perfect everyday, but I just try to accentuate their natural shape and color with a little guidance and two fab products.
