The amount of love I have for this lil' DIY is ~out of bounds~ (my husband might hate me for that quote). Honestly, this DIY idea came from a ruined thrifted men's shirt because I washed it with colors and the collar and sleeve cuffs were WHITE. Oops. But this is my journey, I make mistakes and then I ~fix~ them with creativity (ha) and then I am left with the coolest top that I get soooo many compliments on. I'm the laziest person when it comes to creating things, DIY-ing things, throwing things together... I just don't feel like things should take a lot of time and money, unless it's something you love. That's why this DIY is a little choppy, but in the coolest way. Check out the video so you can wear a cool top just like this one! AND GUYS, this project only costs $0-3 (depending on the price you get for your thrifted men's shirt or if you just steal one from your pops or man!). I styled this cool top two different ways but I am dreaming up of all the other ways it can be worn! Check out below how I styled this top and check out the video below for the video tutorial! PS: You need this versatile piece in your life. "Just do it" - Nike
This top is so easy and breezy - I was glad that the fabric of this thrift store men's shirt was nice and light. Make sure you like the texture and size of the shirt you pick up for this project!
For this second look, I decided to mix it up and grabbed a silk scarf (from the thrift store!) on the way out. I loved adding this around my waist and making this crop top look a little more appropriate. I LOVED how this turned out! It covered up my belly but also just emphasized my waist, added a pop to this cool look and gave the back of the shirt a ruffled, cool effect.
How to Make a Thrift Store Men’s Shirt into Crop Top | EASY TUTORIAL Back to School 2017: I was so excited to share this easy DIY tutorial with you because I have been wearing this crop top nonstop this summer! It’s easy, breezy and perfect to add to your wardrobe. What I love most about this thrift store shirt project is that it can be worn so many ways! You’ll see in my video I styled this look two different ways and it can be styled so many more. This easy diy t-shirt is perfect for heading back to school in style because you can throw it on as a duster, tie a fun scarf around the waist or even leave as is. I created this look because I wanted something I couldn’t find. Using a thrift store clothing item I ruined in the washer was the perfect item to upcycle and repurpose. I simply cut this diy shirt at the collar, sleeve and waist. It creates a perfectly minimal look or can be layered to be super boho. I love doing projects like this at home and finding designs and ideas that i know will pop.I hope you guys like this tutorial on how to make this easy diy crop top t-shirt and please share it with your friends and family!
