Starting off this post with a sneak peak of a photoshoot I did in February for a friend, Cortney. More to come!
I've been so busy the past month that Lateleigh has been put on hold in my mind. I suppose that’s a good thing (it’s been a fun whirl-wind thus far) but I could use a week long nap. My purpose for this online space is to document moments I cherish and take note of all the things that are keeping my life so fast paced or, in the event that it happens, so calm. I want to use this space to learn and to reflect as God moves through this life He has created for me and the man He made for me.
March is always busy at the Broun’s house. There are two birthdays (said brother and younger sister) to celebrate as well as that weird thing people keep mentioning…spring cleaning. --If I actually get around to doing that I’ll have to rename it something more drastic like “Purge the Useless Piles of Clothes from My Bedroom Floor”-- My brother and I traveled back to the mother-land and enjoyed the weekend being surrounded by family. My sister, Allison, is gracious to let us stay at her house --I call it my hotel, haha. I gave Elizabeth her belated birthday gift, we all got our pedicures in check and then we rounded out the trip by eating cheesecake for Michael's 24th --wut-- birthday. I seriously never laugh as much as when I am with my family, especially my three siblings. They are my best friends. Back in Dallas we took Michael out for some Italian food. Poor guy, he got a Neil Diamond cassette tape from me...mostly because it was I thought it would be hilarious. Its album title is: "The Best Years of Our Lives". I got a great laugh out of him when he read it.
This particular March, however, I was pretty booked. Hardly any time to fully enjoy being around Daniel, which doesn't make me a happy camper. Our work schedules are complete opposite. I can't wait for our life to even out together but I am definitely cherishing this season with him. I've never been more in love! One Monday that we were both free, we traveled over to our Ikea. That place may be enormous and often crowded like a tin of sardines, but on a lazy Monday while everyone else is busy, it is retail therapy. We got some great pieces for each of our apartments.
Through storms, long hours, & lightening fast call sheet changes, we completed “Wonderkind”. Next step is submission for festivals. I've also been working --praying-- this month for the opportunity to work on the NBC shows being filmed right now so I could have some more awesomeness on my resume…drum roll please…I got cast as an extra --woo…-- in the NBC pilot called “Two to Go” for this coming Monday and Tuesday! Now if I could only find my patience as He transitions me from a part time office job to doing that full time. Yes, I do believe it can happen.
I'm Alyssa, thanks for stopping by! A few things: I enjoy laughing, making youtube videos and thrift shopping. Currently listening to "Last Night" by The Strokes. I like my coffee black and my preferred method of maxin' & relaxin' is with my husband and pup.
